Midfielder Clay Holstad spent his college career at the University of Kentucky where he appeared in 85 total matches, including starting all 21 matches of his senior season in 2022. Named the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Tournament MVP, Holstad was selected by the Columbus Crew in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft and signed to their MLS NEXT Pro side Columbus Crew 2. After appearing in 26 mataches for Columbus and notching over 1,700 minutes, Holstad joined Rhode Island FC for their innaugural 2024 USL Championship campaign.
