On August 9, 2024, Rhode Island FC announced the acquisition of defender Morris Duggan on loan from MLS club Minnesota United FC. Duggan was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft and has played nearly 1,000 minutes for Minnesota's MLS NEXT PRO team this season, and has appeared in several games for the Loon's first team as well.

“Morris is a talented defender who has played meaningful minutes at a very high level this season,” said RIFC Head Coach and General Manager Khano Smith. “He will add quality in and out of possession to our defensive unit. Morris is a player we are excited to add to our roster.”
