On August 31, 2024, Rhode Island FC defeated Birmingham Legion FC 2-0 at home in Rhode Island, completing the first regular season sweep of an opponent in RIFC history. After defeating Birmingham 3-1 on the road on July 17, RIFC returned home a month later and completed the sweep against Coach Khano Smith's former club.
