In the 11th minute of Rhode Island FC's first 2024 US Open Cup match, Conor McGlynn slotted home a nice cutback pass from Collin Smith scoring the first US Open Cup competition goal in RIFC history. The goal marked McGlynn's first goal for the club and the state of Rhode Island's first goal in the domestic tournament in 27 years.
