Club Firsts: First RI Native Captain - Rare
When Rhode Island FC entered the 2024 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in the Third Round, it marked the state's first appearance in the competition since 1997. Taking the field that night wearing the captain's armband and making his professional debut was Kevin Vang became the first Rhode Island native player to wear the captain's band for RIFC.
