After appearing in 33 of 34 matches, of which he started 31 and averaged 84 minutes per game, Clay Holstad was voted Rhode Island FC Player of the Year by the Defiance 1636 supporters group. Holstad played wherever the team needed him to, spending time at defender, wing back, and central midfield. Scoring 4 goals on the year, 2 with his left foot and 2 with his right, Holstad also added 1 assist in his 2,760 minutes of play. A non-stop workhorse for the club, Holstad is well deserving of the first Play of the Year award in club history.
